Decision No. 2 of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council dated October 1, 2024 approved the main directions of industrial cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union until 2030.
This list of priority types of economic activity for industrial cooperation within the EAEU includes the pharmaceutical industry and the production of medical devices.
The document was developed in order to use the potential of the EAEU internal market using the opportunities of regional economic integration to develop cooperation ties, eliminate barriers, localize joint production, and involve small and medium-sized industrial enterprises in production chains.
The decision also provides for the implementation of a mechanism for mutual information of the EAEU member states on national industrial policies regarding sensitive goods that are a priority for industrial cooperation within the EAEU.
One of the areas of industrial cooperation is the interaction of the EAEU countries on issues of technological forecasting, the introduction of innovations in industrial production processes, and the large-scale use of digital technologies.
In addition, the document is aimed at expanding product sales markets beyond the EAEU member states.
The decision comes into force on the date of its official publication.
The official publication of the document took place on 02.10.2024.
