«SK-PHARMACEUTICALS» PROVIDES MEDICINES AND MEDICAL DEVICES TO ABOUT 2000 MEDICAL ORGANIZATIONS IN THE COUNTRY

Today, a meeting was held in the Government chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, one of the agendas of which was providing the population with medicines.

At the meeting on the provision of medicines to the country, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akmaral Alnazarova and the Chairman of the Board of SK-Pharmaceuticals LLP Erken Zhakatai made reports. The head of SK-Pharmaceuticals reported on the activities of the single distributor of medicines and medical devices of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the context of years.

Thus, special attention was paid to the main indicators achieved over 15 years of the company's operation. Let us recall that SK-Pharmaceuticals LLP, created in 2009 on the initiative of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, carries out tasks on the uninterrupted provision of medical institutions with the necessary medicines and support of Kazakhstani pharmaceutical production. At the moment, thanks to the efforts of a single distributor, more than 1,200 hospitals and 700 clinics throughout the country receive medicines and medical devices in a timely manner.

"This year, a single distributor purchased 1,588 types of medicines and medical devices for 480 billion tenge. This purchase was made from 36 domestic manufacturers, 34 foreign manufacturers, 3 large international organizations and 55 distributors. And their volume in monetary terms has increased 15 times compared to 2010. The number of nosologies has increased 10 times, from 11 to 120 types of diseases," emphasized E. Zhakatai.

Also, over these years, the company's warehouse logistics system, which is considered the most important element of the activity, has improved. Over these years, the number of warehouses has increased: from 1 to 14 with a total area of 300 thousand cubic meters. To improve the availability of medical devices, a pilot project is being developed with Kazpost JSC.

Also, Erken Zhakatai dwelt in detail on the development of the pharmaceutical industry and support for domestic manufacturers. Since 2009, the single distributor has concluded long-term contracts with 35 Kazakhstani manufacturers, covering about 4,000 product names. In 2023, SK-Pharmaceuticals expanded its partnership with international pharmaceutical giants such as Pfizer, Roche and AstraZeneca to produce original drugs in Kazakhstan.

Following the speech of the chairman of the single distributor, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov instructed SK-Pharmacy to develop the domestic pharmaceutical industry.

"The activities of SK-Pharmaceuticals should contribute to the development of domestic production of pharmaceutical products and medical equipment as much as possible. As the new head of the company, you must designate this area as a priority," the Prime Minister noted.

It is worth noting that the company is currently focused on the full automation of procurement procedures from planning to procurement, as well as the creation of a single information base with further integration into the country's healthcare ecosystem. These measures will ensure a high level of transparency and efficiency of procurement management in the healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
