In February 2009, the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan decided to create the company "SK-Pharmacy" in the structure of JSC "National Welfare Fund" Samruk-Kazyna "(Resolution of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 134 of February 11, 2009).
By the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 516 dated May 25, 2013, the rights of ownership and use of one hundred percent interest in the limited liability partnership "SK-Pharmacy" were transferred to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Single Distributor system was created to provide medicines to the population within the guaranteed volume of free medical care, increase the sustainability and competitiveness of the pharmaceutical industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and develop the pharmaceutical industry by consolidating public procurement of medicines.
Main activities of a Single distributor:
* Organization of open tenders for the purchase of medicines within the guaranteed volume • free medical care;
* Organization of storage of medicines in accordance with the requirements of appropriate distribution practices and Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
* Organization of logistics processes for medicines and medical devices in state medical organizations;
* Creation of an information system for the integration of logistics processes of a Single distributor, customer and suppliers, as well as for obtaining up-to-date information on turnover and product balances.
Since 2011, in accordance with the decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 30, 2009 No. 1729, SK-Pharmacy LLP has been organizing the purchase of medical equipment purchased at the expense of the republican budget, as well as for further transfer to healthcare organizations on financial leasing terms.
With the transfer of the function of centralized procurement of medical equipment, SK-Pharmacy LLP was tasked with reducing its cost by centralizing procurement within the republic and applying two-stage tender procedures, further improving the quality of purchased equipment and ensuring its uninterrupted operation.
