FROM DIALOGUE TO JOINT PROJECTS IN THE CIS, EAEU, SCO SPACE

On March 28, the International Economic Forum of the CIS Member States was held in Moscow under the motto “From dialogue to joint projects in the CIS, EAEU, SCO.”

Within the framework of the forum, over 20 sections were held with the participation of more than two thousand people, who discussed current topics of cooperation between CIS countries in logistics, customs, construction, industrial cooperation, migration policy, medicine, tourism, sustainable development and other areas.

The main goal is to move from discussions to closer cooperation. The forum will take place simultaneously with the meeting of the CIS Economic Council.

Traditionally, members of the CIS Economic Council, the leadership of the CIS Executive Committee, the executive bodies of the EAEU and the SCO were invited to the plenary section. In addition, the event brought together representatives of business and expert communities. The topics of the forum cover a wide variety of sectors: economics, industry, education, medicine, culture, security and others.

Among the participants, the Chairman of the Board of SK-Pharmacia LLP, Erkhat Iskaliev, also took part in the forum. He was invited as an honorary speaker of the “Logistics” section. From dialogue to joint projects in the CIS, EAEU, SCO, BRICS."

All over the world, logistics has become an integral part of business strategy. In the current realities, logistics plays a key role in the industrial development of countries. Moreover, in a number of countries this area is the main factor in stimulating the economy.

The logistics industry, like any other field of activity, is at a constant stage of improvement.

In his speech, E. Iskaliev spoke in detail about the transport logistics of Kazakhstan, namely, he presented the large-scale project “Kazakhstan - the new Silk Road” in 10 days.

The strategic principles of the Silk Road logistics project are Speed, Service, Security, Stability and of course cost.

Special attention during the presentation was focused on the development of the domestic pharmaceutical industry. The support measure in the country is provided in the form of concluding long-term contracts. To date, 94 long-term contracts have been concluded with 35 domestic producers for the supply of 3,948 types of medicines.

The development of the domestic pharmaceutical industry is seen through the production of innovative medications. In addition, comprehensive work is being carried out in all priority areas: improving legal regulations, developing logistics infrastructure, attracting investments, as well as cooperation with BigPharma and global vendors.

Thanks to systematic work over the past few years, today there are already breakthrough results for the industry and the country. One of the significant achievements was the conclusion of historical long-term agreements for the contract production of original innovative drugs between pharmaceutical giants Pfizer and Roche and the Unified Distributor.

Along with this, agreements were signed for the localization of production with Bayer, AstraZeneca, NovoNordisk and Johnson & Johnson. Another 5 memoranda on the location of production sites in Kazakhstan for joint developments in the field of pharmaceuticals and medical equipment were concluded with South Korean companies: JWHoldingsCorporation, SamsungMedison, GENORAY, MEDICALPARTNERSKOREALTD and DRTECH.

Another measure for the development of the domestic pharmaceutical industry is the creation of a pharmaceutical logistics hub in Kazakhstan. This is necessary for the rapid and efficient distribution of drugs. The Unified distributor, being the anchor client of the logistics pharmaceutical hub, became part of this grandiose project.

In addition, to increase the availability of medicines for patients, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan initiated group procurement by increasing the volume of medicines and medical devices. The initiative was officially formalized in the form of a memorandum concluded between SK-Pharmaceuticals LLP and the Kyrgyzpharmacy State Enterprise under the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic in October 2023.

According to a study by the Expert RA rating agency, Kazakhstan is the largest economy in Central Asia. It is important that Kazakhstan’s trade balance remains consistently positive.

All speakers and participants of the international forum expressed confidence that the platform will contribute to solving a variety of problems facing sectors of the economy, industry, education, medicine, culture, security and others and to adopting the experience of neighboring countries.

The Unified distributor, in turn, noted the great potential of the International Economic Forum of the CIS Member States on the exchange of experience and voiced opportunities for increasing interaction.
