GENERAL ELECTRIC INTENDS TO LOCALIZE THE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT PRODUCTION IN KAZAKHSTAN

On September 19, 2022, within the framework of the Kazakh-American investment round table, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tokayev K.K. held a meeting with Nabil Khabayeb, Senior Vice President of General Electric International Markets.

At the meeting, a representative of the corporation announced its intention to localize the production of medical equipment in Kazakhstan. In particular, it is planned to launch a new production line for the production of ultrasound and CT devices.

The Kazakh-American investment round table was organized with the assistance of the US Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and Kazakh Invest.

The development of the production of expensive innovative products, the promotion of the industry in the direction of technology transfer, the localization of original medical products, is of key importance for the industry today. A powerful stimulus for the development of domestic production is the development of interaction with major world industry.

General Electric Company is one of the leading manufacturers of medical equipment, the product line of which includes a wide range of types of medical equipment.

In addition, General Electric is interested in the prospect of organizing educational programs and trainings to ensure a high level of qualification of personnel in the healthcare system of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the effective use of high-tech medical equipment. It is noteworthy that in order to increase the efficiency of the use of installed equipment, GE Healthcare plans to open a branch of GE Academy in Kazakhstan. The search for a suitable partner and platform for the implementation of this project is currently underway.

It should be recalled that the Head of State is now on a working visit to New York, the central event of which is his participation in the General Debates of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.
