Every year, World Hepatitis Day is celebrated on July 28th. The date for its establishment was the birthday of the American doctor Samuel Bloomberg, Nobel Prize winner, who discovered the hepatitis B virus.
Hepatitis is an inflammation of liver tissue caused by various viruses. Currently, about 2 billion people in the world suffer from hepatitis, and every year 900 thousand people die from viral hepatitis.
There are two ways to protect yourself from hepatitis. Firstly, maintain hygiene and caution during blood transfusions and sexual intercourse. Secondly, get vaccinated - with the help of antiviral drugs, more than 95% of people with hepatitis C infection can be cured. As a rule, the vaccine reliably protects a person from infection with viruses A and B.
It should be noted that in Kazakhstan, hepatology has all types of specialized medical care for the treatment of chronic liver diseases, including viral hepatitis.
The Unified distributor, as part of free drug provision, is actively involved in the fight against hepatitis B and C.
Since the beginning of the year, the Unified Distributor has supplied medical organizations with medicines worth 1.3 billion tenge as part of outpatient drug provision and in the amount of 4.2 million tenge as part of inpatient treatment. This means that a large number of patients with hepatitis received the necessary treatment.
We encourage everyone to be aware of their health and take precautions to protect themselves from hepatitis infection. This includes practicing good hygiene, boiling water and getting vaccinated.
Be healthy!
