KAZAKHSTAN AND INDIA ARE ACTIVELY DEEPENING THEIR COOPERATION IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL FIELD

Today, October 3, at the site of the Single Distributor, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Board of SK-Pharmacia LLP, Erkhat Iskaliev, and the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Kazakhstan, Nagendra Prasada. The meeting was also attended by the Second Secretary of the Embassy and the head of the commercial department for increasing cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry, Digvijay Patil.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the state and prospects for the development of the Kazakh-Indian strategic partnership in the pharmaceutical field, and also exchanged views on current issues of bilateral cooperation.

Kazakhstan and India, two countries with rich potential and dynamically developing economies, are actively deepening their cooperation in the development of the pharmaceutical industry. This cooperation not only strengthens the partnership between the two countries, but also helps improve the quality of medical care and the availability of medicines for the population.

Among Central Asian countries, Kazakhstan is the main trading partner and exporter to India. Trade turnover between the two countries at the end of 2022 reached $2.5 billion. India today produces up to a third of all medicines in the world.

One of the key elements of cooperation is the exchange of advanced technologies and experience in the production of medicines. Domestic pharmaceutical manufacturers are localizing the production of new drugs, and technological improvements in the field continue. The focus is also on developing R&D centers for our own developments. All this will have a beneficial effect on the pharmaceutical industry of the republic.

The Indian side noted the great potential for economic cooperation between the two countries and voiced opportunities for developing bilateral interaction. The parties expressed interest in mutual cooperation. It was noted that it is necessary to consolidate joint efforts for the purpose of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The head of the Single Distributor and the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Kazakhstan expressed their readiness to transfer technology and invest in the pharmaceutical industry of Kazakhstan and are interested in long-term cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, the Indian Ambassador thanked for the warm welcome, confirming his readiness to make every effort to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and India in the pharmaceutical industry.
