KAZAKHSTAN HAS SENT HUMANITARIAN MEDICAL AID TO UKRAINE

On March 14, 2022, in pursuance of the Protocol of the meeting of the Commission on International Humanitarian Aid, as well as the execution of the order of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan sent humanitarian aid to Ukraine from the Almaty airport. Humanitarian aid to citizens of Ukraine will be sent by two flights on March 14 and 15, 2022 from the airport of Almaty.

The Commission on International Humanitarian Assistance under the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan made a decision to allocate a batch of medical preparations to the population of Ukraine.

Kazakhstan provides humanitarian assistance in response to an official appeal from another state. After receiving such an appeal from the Ukrainian side, the President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gave a specific instruction to urgently provide humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainian people.

The Government of Kazakhstan has reached an agreement with neighboring states, where hubs have been deployed to receive and distribute international humanitarian aid to Ukraine for the safe delivery of goods to the territory of Ukraine.

Thus, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, worked out the issue of delivering humanitarian cargo along the route Almaty-Katowice (Poland) by aircraft. The total weight of humanitarian aid amounted to 28.2 tons, which included 17 types of medicines: antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, antitussive and antihypertensive drugs.
