KAZAKHSTAN STUDIES TURKISH EXPERIENCE IN EQUIPMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENT IN CLINICS

From May 10 to May 12, 2022, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev paid an official visit to the Republic of Turkey. Also, representatives of the Single Distributor SK-Pharmacy LLP were present in the government delegation.

As part of the official visit, representatives of the Single Distributor visited the city hospital of Basaksehir Cham and Sakura to study the experience of equipping medical organizations in Turkey.

Issues were discussed on the order of formation of equipment, the actual fulfillment of contracts in terms of supply and maintenance by manufacturers at a meeting with the first head of the hospital.

It should be recalled that the President instructed to switch to a centralized procurement of medical equipment on the basis of the Single Distributor, following the example of the medicines and medical devices procurement.

The Single Distributor shows great interest in studying the experience of Turkish colleagues in the procurement of medical equipment through the conclusion of life cycle contracts, as well as in obtaining methodological assistance on this issue.

Basaksehir Cham and Sakura City Hospital is implemented by the Turkish Ministry of Health and is the third largest concession/PPP investment in Turkey. This healthcare investment project was awarded PPP Contract of the Year by the Thomson Reuters Foundation International Project Finance Awards.

At the same time, in order to study the experience, representatives of the Single Distributor were introduced to information systems and an inspection of the Roche laboratory was carried out. Roche provided assistance in the implementation of new diagnostic methods, both through methodological support and logistics of the necessary laboratory equipment for research projects. Roche set up a laboratory diagnostics center with the configuration and selection of the necessary laboratory equipment, while incurring the costs associated with equipment.

The parties also discussed the problematic issues of equipment, its planning, the effectiveness of the use of medical equipment, the training of specialists (medical and technical personnel of healthcare organizations), the improvement of after-sales service and repair.

The Kazakh side noted the great potential for economic cooperation between the two countries on the exchange of experience in the centralized procurement of medical equipment, medical information systems, and announced the possibility of increasing bilateral cooperation.
