On October 19, the Single Distributor held an online discussion meeting with the medical associations of Kazakhstan. Over 20 different medical communities are represented among them.
Welcoming the participants of the meeting, the head of the Single Distributor Yerkhat Iskaliyev noted that the issues of procuring and timely delivery of medicines to hospitals and polyclinics of the country are under special control.
Various issues of interaction between the Single Distributor and medical communities were discussed at the meeting. Thus, an exchange of views took place on the systemic measures taken to improve drug supply, issues of quality and safety of medicines, and a new system for the procurement of medical equipment. Representatives of medical associations spoke about their difficulties, wishes and suggestions.
The issue of drug provision for patients with orphan diseases was also discussed. To solve it, within the framework of the reboot program, the Single Distributor proposed to implement a record of the number of patients for collecting procurement applications, develop mechanisms for recognizing international certificates, simplify the registration procedure for orphan drugs and centralize the procurement of drugs for all orphan diseases at the expense of the republican and local budgets.
The issue of centralization of the medical equipment procurement was not left without attention. The participants were presented with the measures taken to switch to the central procurement of medical equipment in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Procurement centralization is planned to be carried out in two stages. In the future, the Program for medical equipping in priority areas until 2025 will be approved with the identification of funding sources.
For high-quality treatment of patients, it is necessary to equip medical institutions with modern diagnostic and treatment-and-prophylactic equipment through the effective functioning of the medical equipment market and the availability of a list of conscientious suppliers.
Particular attention is paid to the comprehensive maintenance of medical equipment and ongoing training of medical staff. This will significantly increase the volume and quality of medical services provided to the population and reduce the costs of their provision through the effective use of medical equipment by healthcare organizations.
Currently, a substantive study of the issues of localization of production is being carried out with foreign and domestic manufacturers of medical equipment. As a result of this work, an advisory list of equipment for localization in Kazakhstan will be formed, which will be worked out in detail by the medical and expert community, with regional health departments and medical organizations.
The head of the Single Distributor thanked everyone for their participation, as well as for making specific proposals, which plays a key role in making management decisions. The opinion of medical associations is extremely important in productive cooperation, which will only be strengthened and expanded in the future, he noted.
Representatives of medical associations, in turn, noted the dynamics and effectiveness of the work of the Single Distributor in organizing interaction and solving problems. The participants of the meeting noted common approaches to improving the uninterrupted provision of the population with the necessary medicines and the procurement of the necessary medical equipment.
The medical community made recommendations on the revision of clinical protocols, new and effective drugs, as well as proposals for equipping medical institutions with modern medical equipment.
