MORE THAN 2 MILLION PATIENTS WERE PROVIDED WITH FREE MEDICINES IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2024

Before that, let's figure out what kind of treatment is called outpatient.

Outpatient treatment is medical care that a medical institution provides to patients without the need for hospitalization.

For example, this is when medical services are provided at home or patients themselves visit the attending physician in his office or clinic.

Thus, outpatient drug provision is the issuance of drugs on prescription in clinics.

Note that the Unified Distributor has been conducting a centralized purchase of the entire outpatient list since 2018, which allowed the country's budget to save 23.4 billion tenge in 2018.

This year, in the first half of the year, SK-Pharmaceuticals provided more than 2 million patients with medicines at the outpatient level.

In the first half of 2024, more than 8 million prescriptions were written for 2 million patients for a total of more than 106 billion tenge, which means that on average about 44.2 thousand prescriptions are written and dispensed daily.

Since 2020, a system of compulsory social health insurance has been introduced in Kazakhstan, which has made it possible to cover an additional 105 nosologies.
