SK-PHARMACY AND BAYER DISCUSSED ISSUES OF STARTEGIC PARTNERSHIP

On September 12, 2022, the Single Distributor held an online meeting with Bayer representatives. The parties discussed issues of strategic partnership, development of the clinical trials market and transfer of advanced technologies in the healthcare sector.

The meeting was attended by Bayer's Head of Business Operations in the CIS and Russia Tilo Jorgal, Head of Radiology Business Operations in the CIS Irina Pankova, CEO of Bayer in Kazakhstan Lauma Valtere, Head of Legal Department Gulmira Baismakova, Medical Director Elena Gofman, Head of Market Access, Marketing and Sales Department Dulat Konakbayev and Market Access Manager Yerkhan Akhanbayev.

Welcoming remarks were made by the SK-Pharmacy LLP Chairman of the Board Yerkhat Iskaliyev and the head of business operations in the CIS countries and Russia Tilo Jorgal.

In turn, the Single Distributor informed the participants of the meeting about the centralized procurement system in Kazakhstan and the role of the Single Distributor in the drug supply system. Investment opportunities in the field of pharmaceuticals and cooperation initiatives with manufacturers of original drugs, raw materials for the production of medicines and medical devices were also announced.

The development of the production of expensive innovative products, the promotion of the industry in the direction of technology transfer, localization of original medicines and the production of substances is of key importance for the Kazakhstani pharmaceutical industry today.

In this regard, in order to implement the tasks set by the Head of State on the importance of cooperation with global corporations, attracting investors, ensuring the transfer of technologies and the latest developments, the Single Distributor takes the initiative to provide a platform for major brands to enter the country from packaging to the full production cycle.

The Single Distributor emphasized that a powerful incentive for the development of domestic production is the development of interaction with the major global pharmaceutical industry and the involvement of domestic research institutes, scientific laboratories of large medical universities like R&D centers, as well as their deployment in free economic and industrial zones.

The Kazakh side invited Bayer to develop contract manufacturing of medicines and medicinal raw materials, noting that this opens up broad prospects for development.

At the meeting, attention was paid to personnel issues in the healthcare industry. The parties noted that human resources determine the efficiency of health care systems, the quality and accessibility of medical care provided to the population. It is the highly qualified personnel in the country's healthcare system that make the industry efficient, affordable and improve the quality of medical care.
