On October 5, the Single Distributor held a meeting with the management of Samsung Medison and Ordamed JSC on the localization of medical equipment in Kazakhstan.
The meeting was attended by the CEO of Samsung Medison – Yong Kwan KIM, Vice President of Samsung Medison - Ku Tae Yu, Regional Director for Central Asia of Samsung Medison – Jang Hwan KIM, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ordamed JSC – Erkin Dlimbetov, Chairman of the Board of Ordamed JSC - Yulia Anokhina.
Today, in the conditions of the geopolitical situation, Kazakhstan attaches great importance to the development of local production, the promotion of the industry in the direction of technology transfer, its digitalization, increasing the export potential of domestic manufacturers of medical equipment.
For high-quality treatment of patients, it is necessary to create favorable conditions for equipping medical institutions with modern diagnostic and therapeutic and preventive equipment through the effective functioning of the medical equipment market.
Earlier, the Head of State instructed to switch to a centralized purchase of medical equipment on the basis of a Single distributor, following the example of the purchase of medicines and medical products. In fulfillment of these instructions, a Single distributor has started working with world manufacturers of medical equipment to develop centralization mechanisms, including on the terms of localization of production.
Since the accuracy of the diagnosis is recognized as the main component of successful treatment, the meeting touched upon the impact of early qualitative preliminary diagnosis on improving the statistics of disease growth in Kazakhstan.
Recall that on June 29, 2022, as part of the visit of the delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Korea, a round table was organized and a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Samsung Medison Co., LTD and Ordamed JSC. Plans and points of development of actions under this Memorandum were discussed during today's meeting.
And also much attention was paid to the issue of the influence of Samsung and Ordamed companies on the development of the ultrasound diagnostics market in Kazakhstan. Namely, the parties discussed in detail the improvement of the qualifications of specialists, the improvement of the provision of quality medical services and the introduction of new innovative technologies into the country's healthcare system.
So, in 2007, the first scientific and practical course ProVisio, organized by Ordamed, was held for doctors from all over Kazakhstan. Since then, this event has been held annually, and not only in our country, but also in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The main speakers of the ProVisio course are experts in the field of ultrasound diagnostics known all over the world.
The parties noted that human resources determine the efficiency of health systems, the quality and accessibility of medical care provided to the population. It is highly qualified personnel in the country's healthcare system that make the industry efficient, affordable and improves the quality of medical care.
Ordamed signed an exclusive contract with Medison in 2006 and became the official distributor of this brand in Central Asian countries. In 2011, Samsung Medison was formed by merging the world-famous Samsung brand and the leading manufacturer of ultrasound equipment Medison.
Following the meeting, the parties mutually expressed the opinion on the need to consolidate joint efforts for mutually beneficial cooperation. The sides expressed confidence that today's dialogue will definitely continue and bring positive results.
