The project to localize the production of drugs against breast cancer was launched at the Almaty Pharmaceutical Factory together with the international companies Roche and Nobel.
The head of state set the task of increasing the share of domestic production of drugs and medical devices to 50% of the total pharmaceutical market.
And in accordance with the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokaev on the use of innovative treatment methods for all patients with HER2-positive breast cancer, an agreement was previously signed between SK- Pharmaceutical, Nobel AFF, Roche and KazNIIOiR.
The goal of the cooperation is the local production of original oncological drugs for the treatment of HER2-positive cancer, which is one of the leading causes of death in Kazakhstan.
At the opening of the new production, the Minister of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan Akmaral Alnazarova emphasized that the creation of local capacities for the production of vital oncological drugs is an important step to increase the availability of modern treatment methods in Kazakhstan and improve the quality of life of patients.
Attracting investment, technology transfer and the latest developments in localization of production will reduce dependence on imported drugs and lower their cost.
