A meeting between the Chairman of the Board Erken Zhakatay and the UNICEF representative Dr. Rashed Mustafa Sarwar took place at the site of the Unified Distributor.
The purpose of the representative's visit was to get acquainted with the company's activities, its vision, as well as to deepen cooperation and discuss issues of purchasing medicines and medical products.
The Chairman of the Board, having welcomed the guests, noted the role of UNICEF in the country's healthcare system, including the purchase of vaccines and medicines.
"Cooperation with international organizations such as UNICEF is strategically important for the Unified Distributor. We have the same mission - to provide the population with the necessary medicines and maintain their health, especially the younger generation," - emphasized E.Zh.
During the discussion of internal issues related to the need for drug supply, price category, quality of medicines, procurement rules and procedures, the UNICEF representative expressed gratitude for the meeting and raising pressing issues that need to be addressed.
"Kazakhstan has a special status, so it is an honor for me to be here and work with your country. We now provide not only vaccines and medicines, but also medical products, essential items, and we can even equip warehouses with the necessary equipment. Our main goal is to ensure equal opportunities for children. To do this, we need a close partnership with organizations like yours. For our part, we are always ready to help you in matters in which we are competent," said Rashed Mustafa Sarwar.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to analyze in detail the needs of the population and work out issues of accelerated delivery of vital drugs to Kazakhstan.
Recall that in 2016, SK-Pharmaceuticals signed an agreement with UNICEF for the first time on procurement, which allows providing 85-90% of HIV/AIDS patients with free drugs.
